Liverpool plan to compete with Everton over Brazilian defender

Reportedly, both Liverpool and Everton could go head-to-head for Torino center-back, Gleison Bremer in the January transfer window.

The Reds will play without Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk for most of the season, Joel Matip also sidelined last weekend.

It appears that Jurgen Klopp’s team are looking for a new central defender next month.

Bremer

is on list of players under supervision by

Liverpool’

s transfer committee.

Fulham made moves for

Bremer

in the summer but instead went for Lyon’s Joachim Anderson.

The 23-year-old has played 11 times in the league this term.

Former

Liverpool

attacker, Peter Crouch has requested the Premier League leaders to sign a new center-half in January and

Liverpool

also hopes to bolster their defensive options.

“I think getting a centre-half in in January is key,”

Crouch said.

“I think they have been looking at it, I think they have identified people, behind the scenes they will be working on it. They cannot rely on the young lads and a midfielder at centre-half.”

Liverpool

will play against Southampton on Monday night, before an FA Cup match against Aston Villa next weekend.
