Denis Suarez childhood and family

Denis Suarez was born on the 6th day of January 1994 to a family with a middle-class background in Salceda de Caselas, Spain. The profession of his mother was hairdressing while his father was a businessman who did not seem to have much time spending with Denis during his childhood.

His parents' origin goes back to the Galicia ethnic group of Spain which covers a great part of the boundary of Northern Portugal.

Denis Suarez childhood

was spent growing up along with his sister pictured alongside their mother in the following image.

Denis started playing football when he was a three years old toddler. Back then, balloons and oranges wear his soccer ball as he used to kick them day and night. Most often, little Denis would go on a rampage with his kicks which led to breaking chandeliers, vases and above all destroying plants outside his mother’s Salon.

In the absence of his away dad, when his mum saw him that much active, she forced him to join a team so as to prohibit his further ruining the plants outside his mum's salon.

Denis Suarez’s mum left her hairdressing salon to her relatives as she and Denis travelled a 90-minute journey to the Porrino Industrial Football team for the sake of enrolling him for trials.

Fortunately, Denis Suarez passed the trials and his mum went on to make even further sacrifices of accompanying him to his training while her husband stayed at work all day long.

Hopefully, at Porrino Industrial, little Denis somehow compensated for his mum efforts as he was recognized as the best player among his age group.

As time goes by, Denis was able to fend for himself without depending on his mum. Later he went on his footballing maturation process after a successful trial with Celta Vigo in 2009.

Denis Suarez professional career

As it was mentioned earlier Suárez played his youth career in his home country for Porriño Industrial and Celta de Vigo. As Manchester City was in search of Europe’s most promising players for both their senior and junior team, they found a genius in Denis Suarez who was shining at the top of his youth career in Celta.

Therefore he got contracted with Manchester City on 23 May 2011, with a fee of £ 900,000 as they beat off interest from Barcelona,

Chelsea

and rivals Manchester United.

But he was an unused stopgap in the League Cup game against

Birmingham City

. His competitive debut for the club was in the next round of the League Cup, as he was replaced with Samir Nasri in the 67th minute in the 5–2 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

On 17 May 2012, he appeared brilliantly for Manchester City reserves against

Manchester United

reserves in Manchester Senior Cup, yet Manchester City lost 2–0. Likewise, he won Manchester City's Young Player of the Year according to the fans vote in 2012.

Then on 22 August 2013, he preferred to complete a transfer to Barcelona rather than to stay with Manchester City, so he got contracted a four-year deal with Barcelona for a fee that remained disclosed.

During the 2013–14 season, he played primarily for Barcelona B in the Spanish Segunda División in the continuation of his development.

Then in July 2014, he was loaned two seasons to Sevilla according to a deal which saw

Ivan Rakitić

move to Barcelona as well. His competitive debut was on 12 August in the 2014 UEFA Super Cup at Cardiff City Stadium, as he featured 78 minutes before he was substituted for José Antonio Reyes in the 2–0 defeat to Real Madrid.

On 11 December, he put away the only goal of Sevilla's final Europa League group game against HNK Rijeka, sending the club through at the expense of their Croatian opponents.

In addition, on 29 August 2015, he accepted a transfer to Villarreal for an uncovered fee, as he signed a four-year deal while it was included with a buy-back clause.

On 4 July 2016, after exercising the buy-back clause, his return to Barcelona was announced. Barcelona paid €3.5 million for a four-year contract, with a choice of a further year according to the number of his appearances.

But in his first season, he managed only 12 La Liga starts. Then on 30 January 2019, he was loaned to

Arsenal

until the end of the 2018–19 season. And on 30 June 2019, he got contracted a four-year deal to come back to Celta Vigo, for a €16 million fee.

Suárez has represented Spain U17 as he put away two goals for the team, against Moldova and Northern Ireland. He also accompanied Spain U19 which won the 2012 Under-19 European Championship.

He appeared as a 71st-minute substitute in the final against Greece in his sixth appearances at the Championships, as he netted twice and played 284 minutes.

On 20 May, he represented Galicia in the region's first match for eight years, that was ended up with the result of  1–1 against Venezuela.
