He joined the Real Madrid CF academy at only 7 years old in 2006 and was deeply influenced throughout his youth by Brazilian footballer Marcelo's playing style, and dreamed of playing alongside him, he said in an interview with the Al Aoula TV channel.

With Real Madrid's under-19 team, he took part in the UEFA Youth League in the 2015-2016 season and reached the semi-finals, eventually losing 1-3 to Paris-Saint-Germain. Achraf Hakimi Profile

At the start of the 2017-18 season, the Madrid club's medical staff discovered a heart problem in the right-back Dani Carvajal. The French coach was then counting on the Spanish player's back-up players, notably Nacho and the young Achraf Hakimi who was only 19 years old at the time. Achraf Hakimi made his first-team debut on 1 October 2017 in a La Liga match against

Espanyol

.

Achraf Hakimi scored his first goal with Real Madrid on December 9, 2017, with a pass from Karim Benzema in the 5-0 win against Sevilla FC. Difficult to take his place as a right-back in the starting eleven because of the strong competition from Nacho and Carvajal.

Zidane promised him enough playing time in the following season (2018-2019), citing: "Achraf was so committed that he did not give the impression that this was his first game. It was spectacular. When Dani is with us, he will be the second in the hierarchy and will play. I am very happy for him. It was his first match here at the Bernabéu. I'm happy with his debut because for him it's an important day. He played a great match. He will remember it for the rest of his life."

The young right-back was touched and told how the 98 world champion prepared him for the event: "The coach called me on the phone and told me that I was going to play, that I had to keep calm during the match. I'm very happy with my debut at the best club, it's a day I'll never forget. (...) I worked every day to be there. My colleagues helped me a lot and playing with them makes everything a lot easier". Convinced of being relegated to the Real Madrid Castilla team, Achraf Hakimi was hoping that a club playing in a first division league would come forward as soon as possible in order to prove his talent at the highest level.
