. But while many expected Hungary to crumble under the sheer force of the likes of Germany and France, they have managed to hold their heads up by continuing their tradition of not losing against France.

That’s right, they managed to secure a crucial point against France in an intense 1-1 draw. Having scored against France shows that Hungary too have a chance of going through to the next stage as they can surprise us all with yet another brilliant performance. Anything can happen in the beautiful game of football, and many neutrals might like to see the underdogs have the upper hand for once.

Form analysis

Just like almost all the other national teams competing in Euro 2020, Germany too lacked accuracy and efficiency in front of goal in their first match of the group stage. This poor use of chances led to the Germans wasting so much of their efforts as only one of their ten shots was on target throughout the whole match against France. Even though they had 62% possession of the ball and had almost 300 more passes than their rivals, it was France who got the upper hand by converting one of their only four chances to end the game 1-0 in their favor.
