Mourinho aims digs at Lazio's director ahead of Derby della Capitale

Finishing third in the Europa League Group F, Lazio will face Roma next in Serie A, as Mourinho aimed digs at director Tare for letting Lazio drop to "the losers' competition" while Roma won last year’s Conference League.

Winning the 2021-22 Conference League, a 3-1 victory over Ludogorets sent

Roma

to the next round of the Europa League while their local rivals,

Lazio

was dropped to the Conference League after a 1-0 defeat to Feyenoord.

Despite winning the last year’s competition,

Jose Mourinho

was critical of Lazio director

Igli Tare

ahead of Derby della Capitale on Sunday. He told his Press Conference:

“Honestly, I think they are the favorite, like Wes Ham, Fiorentina, or Leicester last year.

“I haven’t seen who was dropped [from Europa League] but to me, they are favorite now.

“They have the coach, the players, and the team to do it. Perhaps, the problem is Mister Tare who doesn’t want [to win it] because he doesn’t like this competition.”

Sitting fourth and fifth in the

Serie A

table, Roma has one point more than their local rivals as they are seven points behind the league leaders,

Napoli

.
