Ukraine Comeback Secures First Euro 2024 Victory

Yaremchuk's Late Strike Completes Dramatic Turnaround

In their Euro 2024 match against Slovakia,

initially fell behind in the 17th minute when Ivan Schranz headed home Lukas Haraslin's cross for his second tournament goal. However, Serhiy Rebrov's side fought back strongly. Oleksandr Tymchyk hit the post before Mykola Shaparenko equalized shortly after halftime, finishing off a pass from Zinchenko.

With ten minutes left, substitute Roman Yaremchuk completed Ukraine's comeback with a superb finish, controlling a lofted pass from Shaparenko and scoring to secure a 2-1 victory.

Mykola Shaparenko was instrumental for Ukraine, contributing a goal and an assist. He played a crucial role in turning the match around for his team.

Slovakia, managed by Francesco Calzona, faced regrets for sitting back after taking the lead, ultimately costing them the match. They are now preparing to face Romania, while Ukraine will face Belgium next, aiming to continue their momentum in the tournament.
