Bernardo Silva will wait for Barcelona as de Jong’s saga continues

Silva tried to leave City last summer but ended up staying in this team and won the Premier League title last season. Rumors indicate that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are looking to sign him, with the Portuguese himself preferring a move to the Blaugrana.

As

Mundo Deportivo

reports, Silva is aware that Barcelona is likely to sell

Frenkie de Jong

this summer, and Silva has told Barcelona that he is willing to wait until the window's deadline to make that move happen. However, Guardiola previously stated that they are in no rush to sell the 27-year-old midfielder and Silva has now insisted that he is committed to them as long as he is under contract with City.

Being in a serious financial crisis, Laporta tried to get things right at

Barcelona

by undergoing a programme of 'economic levers' this summer, including a plan to cut De Jong's wages, who previously had already agreed to defer over £17m of his earnings.

With

Manchester United

lurking in and La Liga president Tebas warning Barcelona off their plan, the de Jong saga is unlikely to be solved any time soon as they might eventually be forced to sell the Dutchman for a significant fee this summer.

Silva

has won many honors in his 5 years at City and has a contract with this club until the 2024-25 season. It is said that PSG offered Neymar to them to satisfy City with this transfer, but Guardiola did not accept the exchange.
