Liverpool slams ‘hugely disappointing’ reports about the Champions League final fan scandal

UEFA will reportedly take the biggest hit in regards to the issues with supporters in the last season's UCL final.

Despite UEFA taking most of the blame for what happened in last season’s Champions League final, Liverpool are not happy.

UEFA told everyone that they will investigate what happened on the day, as some fans weren’t allowed to come into the stadium which led to a delay in the match. At the time, UEFA claimed some fans used “fake tickets” and as a result the French police used tear gas on some of them.

"It's hugely disappointing that a report of such significance, such importance to football supporters' lives and future safety, should be leaked and published in this way,"

statement read.

"It's been over eight months of work by the independent panel and it is only right and proper to publish the contents of the report to our supporters appropriately.

"We will await to receive a copy of the report and digest it thoroughly before making any further comment."

An independent review, commissioned by UEFA, has put the blame mostly on UEFA, determining the scandal to be a “primary responsibility” of UEFA while also holding the French Police held responsible.
