Former Everton and Newcastle winger Atsu has gone missing in Turkey

There are concerns that Christian Atsu may be buried under the rubble in the wake of the disastrous earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

More than 2000 people have lost their lives in Syria and Turkey in the wake of horrific earthquakes that has been happening in the country. The football community has expressed their support for the people affected by the tragedy.

But there are now concerns that

Christian Atsu

, who formerly played for Newcastle and Everton and now plays for Hatayspor, might be one of the people affected by the tremors, as there haven’t been no news of the winger so far.

Ghana

FA expressed their concerns about Atsu’s well being by posting a tweet which read: "

We pray for Ghana international Christian Atsu and victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria,"

"We continue with our efforts to establish contact with officials of Hatayspor and the Turkish Football Federation, considering the difficult situation.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Christian Atsu and our brothers and sisters in Turkey and Syria. We remain hopeful for positive news."

Newcastle also twitted:

"Praying for some positive news, @ChristianAtsu20."
