Erik Ten Hag jokes he needs fan funds to sign Bellingham and Mbappe

After their revival under Erik ten Hag this season, Man United are expected to bolster their squad in January, especially with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. However, ten Hag rules out signing Bellingham and Mbappe.

After Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure,

Manchester United

wants to sign a striker in the January transfer window and they are considering short-term options. They have already signed Jack Butland this window, but a replacement for the prolific forward is yet to come.

However,

Erik ten Hag

believes his side hasn't have enough funds for transfers like

Jude Bellingham

and

Kylian Mbappe

. He told a group of young fans when he was asked whether he could buy the pair:

"I want to. Have you any pennies for me?"

Manchester United confirmed on Friday that they have signed goalkeeper

Jack Butland

on a six-month loan deal. United signed Martin Dubravka on a loan deal last summer but Newcastle recalled him at the start of January.

United qualified for the FA cup round four with a 3-1 win over Everton on Friday. They will next face Charlton at Old Trafford on Tuesday in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
