Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in Brighton's Moises Caicedo

Liverpool and other Premier League clubs are interested in signing Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

According to the English press,

Brighton

midfielder

Moises Caicedo

is on the radar of top Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Liverpool.

Sky Sports reports that

Liverpool

and Chelsea are monitoring Caicedo’s situation after his impressive performances this season.

Manchester United missed the chance to sign Caicedo when he was still playing in Ecuador. Brighton eventually signed the 21-year-old Caicedo from Independiente del Valle in February 2021 for £5m.

Caicedo was part of the Ecuador World Cup squad in Qatar and started all three group games. He scored in the 2-1 defeat to Senegal.

Caicedo is under contract until 2025 and Brighton does not want to sell him. They sold Ben White to Arsenal in 2021 for £50m and last summer sold Yves Bissouma and Marc Cucurella to Tottenham and Chelsea in big-money deals. It is expected they will only listen to offers above £50m.

Liverpool is looking to strengthen its midfield and Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is their number one target but reports suggest that if they fail to sign him, Caicedo is one of their alternatives.

The winter transfer window opens on January 1 and closes on January 31.
