Nketiah eager to fill in Arsenal starting XI for injured Jesus

After picking up an injury with Brazil that forced him to undergo surgery, Gabriel Jesus will be out of action for around three months. Arsenal's youngster Nketiah is ready to fill in for the Brazilian striker.

Eddie Nketiah

saved his Arsenal career before a potential exit in the summer with a couple of late-campaign outstanding performances. The English striker is eager to take his Arsenal career to the next level by replacing the injured

Gabriel Jesus

.

"

Of course, it is an opportunity for myself,"

Nketiah stated.

"These things happen in football, unfortunately, so you've just got to be ready for the moment when it comes.

"I have been working hard, I've been working hard all season and I'm sure when I get the opportunity I'll be able to come in and help the team."

Mikel Arteta

said earlier:

"Where it affects us is who we are as a team because he gives us so much.

"So what we can do after that, when we know a little bit the timescale and when we can have him back, we will look at the options, and try to make the right decision.”
