Kahn is shocked by Neuer’s broken leg injury sustained during holiday

Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer broke one of his legs while skiing on holiday and will lose the rest of the season.

Manuel Neuer shocked everyone when he revealed that he has broken one of his legs during holiday while skiing. The 36-year-old will lose the rest of

Bayern

’s season.

Neuer apparently fractured his lower right leg during a skiing trip on Friday and has gone under surgery since then. He will be replaced by Sven Ulreich unless Bayern decides to bring in someone in the January transfer window.

The incident shocked the Bayern staff, particularly CEO Oliver Kahn who said: "

The news of Manuel's injury shocked us all. We will stand by him and accompany him on his way to his comeback.

"He will also overcome this serious injury and return to the pitch as strong as before."

Director Salihamidzic also commented on the injury via an official statement which read:

"The fact that Manuel had such an accident is terrible, and of course all our thoughts are with him.

"I spoke with him yesterday and today, and the surgery went as well as possible. Manuel will receive all the support he needs.

"He is a strong personality and will come back. I wish him all the best, he can rely on FC Bayern!"

Former Bayern and current Germany boss Hansi Flick also wished Neuer a

“speedy recovery”.

According to

Neuer

himself, the injury occurred after he was

“trying to get my head clear”

following Germany’s disappointing exit in the group stages of the World Cup.
