Terzic eager to meet “close friend” Potter as BVB faces Chelsea

Chelsea will clash against Dortmund as former BVB players, Aubameyang and Pulisic are set for a reunion.

Dortmund boss Edin Terzic expressed his excitement over the

Chelsea

draw as Dortmund will be meeting “close friends” and former BVB superstars.

After following Manchester City in Group G to the Round of 16,

Dortmund

was handed a rather difficult draw of Chelsea. Although the Blues haven’t been on form recently, they still are a European powerhouse.

The two teams will meet on February 15 at Signal Iduna Park where former BVB stars, Aubameyang and Pulisic will be reunited with BVB fans albeit in blue colors.

Terzic was asked about the Chelsea match following the Champions League draw to which he had this to say:

"With Chelsea, a top team from England awaits us.

"With Aubameyang and Pulisic, they have players that were with us up until a few years ago.

"I am also close friends with the coach Graham Potter. I'm looking forward to seeing him again. But we won't play them now, but in February.

"Until then, there is a lot to do, so much homework to do, but we definitely look forward to those games.

"Attractive opponents like this are what we expect from the

Champions League

, and we will try to progress to the next round."

On the opposite camp, David Bernard who is the director of football, was relieved that they won’t be facing a Dortmund team with Erling Haaland as their striker, stating:

"We're looking forward to playing Dortmund because this will be the first time that we've come across them in the Champions League, it will be interesting from that point of view.

"They played in the City group, as you know, and hopefully we'll get some inside knowledge from City on this particular one. At least Haaland is not playing for Dortmund on this occasion.

"We've obviously got Pierre going back to one of his old clubs, so we are looking forward to it."
