Allegri hails Nico Fagioli’s talent following his debut goal

Just as it seemed that Juve will be having another lackluster weekend in the Serie A, youngster Nicolo Fagioli came to the rescue by scoring a beautiful winner against Lecce.

Juventus was set for yet another disappointing result at Lecce before Nicolo Fagioli rescued the 3 points for the Bianconeri in the 73rd minute. The win helped stave off the mounting pressure that has been building around Massimiliano Allegri recently following their exit from the Champions League as well as their poor results in the Serie A.

This is Juventus’ third win in a row, their first since Feb 2021, which is just mind-blowing for a team that dominated Serie A for a decade. Allegri and co must now chase a top four finish which was no doubt helped by today’s victory.

Speaking to DAZN, Allegri stated: "

Nicolo has great quality. His path was particular. He was a bit bastardised in the role, and he still has to learn to play in front of the defence because he never did it, but Iling was also very good in assisting. All the guys were good."

Of course Juve has been hit with injuries to several of their high-profile players like Chiesa and Pogba, which has resulted in Allegri relying on youngsters like Fagioli.

"The idea was to send Fagioli to the pitch during the game when their intensity dropped,"

Allegri said.

"In football and in life you get up. Everything can not always go wrong, nor always is everything well.

"And just when things go wrong you have to be mentally strong and be good at weathering the storm. Healthy madness must always be maintained, only rationality does not make its way."
