Argentina’s Dybala can make it to the World Cup despite rectus injury

After Argentine's MRI scan today confirmed a lesion to his rectus femoris injury, Dybala still has the chance to represent his country in the upcoming Qatar World Cup that kicks off in November.

Picking up an injury during his side's Sunday’s 2-1 win over Lecce,

Sky Sports

confirmed

Paulo Dybala

has suffered a rectus femoris injury as he will be sidelined for four to six weeks. The Roma's marquee summer signing has already started his recovery program as he is set to undergo a new medical examination next week.

Although the injury means the 28-year-old won't feature for

Roma

again this year, he still has the chance to make it into

Argentina

's World Cup squad if he recovers in less than a month. After joining Mourinho's side from Juventus on a free transfer, the 28-year-old has scored seven goals in 11 appearances across all competitions.

Jose Mourinho

's side has only gained three points in their first three matches in Europa League Group C as they lost two and won one game. They are six points adrift of the group leaders,

Real Betis

as they face the group leaders on Thursday.
