PL level is high, Liverpool struggles no surprise, Rodri

Rodri admitted that the hardships the Reds are experiencing this season are no surprise to him considering the Premier League’s level this time around.

Manchester City

and

Liverpool

are expected to compete for the

Premier League

title this season at the top of the table once again, but so far, this has not happened.

Although the City started the season on the right foot and have shown strength, winning five games, drawing two and sitting second on the Premier League table behind Arsenal, Liverpool have been enduring a hard time. Jurgen Klopp’s side have only won two of their six games so far and sit eighth on the table, having only gained nine points.

Many were surprised by how the Reds started the season, but to

Rodri

, this has not come as a surprise. The Spaniard believes that a slight fall in quality is able to make a big difference in the English top-flight.

“Only partially,"

he told Gazzeta Dello Sport when quizzed whether he was surprised by Liverpool's form.

"The Premier League level is so high that as soon as you slow down, you lose points. Liverpool are not in crisis, they are just less effective, and the Premier League does not allow you to relax.”

In their last game, Liverpool showed positive signs as they vanquished Ajax 2-1 following their thumping 4-1 loss at the hands of Napoli. They dominated the clash against Ajax from the beginning to the end.

Arsenal and Manchester City, on the other hand, are pulling off impressive performances this season, competing for the title as the Gunners are eager to thrive.
