Serie A champions Milan was held to a 0-0 draw at Sassuolo on Tuesday.

Milan

was held to a disappointing 0-0 away draw by

Sassuolo

in their

Serie A

match on Tuesday. Milan next will play with Inter on Saturday.

Milan who currently is at the top of the table with eight points from four games has now dropped four points in their opening four games.

Sassuolo was awarded a penalty in the 23rd minute after Alessandro Florenzi tripped up Georgios Kyriakopoulos but Milan keeper Mike Maignan superbly saved Domenico Berardi's spot kick. The Italy international suffered a serious injury and came off the pitch later in the match.

Milan had plenty of the ball in the first half but they were fortunate to be on level terms after 45 minutes.

Rafael Leao had a chance to clinch a last-gasp victory for Milan after Charles De Ketelaere found him with a pass at the edge of the box but his strike was easily saved.

Rossoneri was crowned Italian champions when they played at Sassuolo last May but on Tuesday night they lacked momentum due to several changes and an insipid showing in the final third.
