Barcelona gave up on signing Villareal defender

The Argentinian defender has been injured recently and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

It seems that the purchase of

Juan Foyth

by

Barcelona

has been ruled out after his recent injury.

Villarreal

announced that Foyth suffered a knee injury during the team's recent match and will be out of action for two months. Barcelona monitored the condition of the Argentine defender in the summer and planned to sign him until the end of the transfers. However, Villarreal was not willing to negotiate with a figure lower than his release clause of 54.6 million euros, and therefore the chances of making this transfer were low.

But Barcelona still plans to recruit a right back this season. Jules Conde and Ronald Araújo have played at right-back so far this season, but both are better in central defense and Xavi will be hoping to sign a right-back before the end of the transfer window.

So far this season, Barca have won 2 in their three games in La Liga and performed well, but they have a difficult schedule ahead of them and they have to face Bayern Munich, Inter and Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.
