Klopp on Alisson injury latest and options v Salzburg

Alisson hasn't played for Liverpool since they lost to Manchester United in a friendly two weeks ago, but he's almost back.

Jurgen Klopp

, the manager of

Liverpool

, said that goalkeeper

Alisson

is almost ready to play again after being hurt. However, he will not be able to play in Wednesday's friendly against Salzburg.

The Brazil international got an abdominal injury when his team played Manchester United in a preseason game two weeks ago, but he is almost ready to be back in goal. It comes at a good time for Liverpool since they play Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley in the Community Shield.

Klopp gave an update on his team before the match with

Salzburg

, who have already won their first league game and are on top of the table after the first round of games.

"Austria's season has already begun, so they are much further along than we are. We'll be aware of that, "Klopp told the website for the club. Our big first game of the season is against City three days from now. So, we will have to make changes, of course."

"This afternoon's meeting is also important, but I don't know who can attend right now. We'll play the game after we take a look. Since it's the preseason, we have to get through it and then deal with it. Diogo Jota isn't here, that's clear, but Alisson is the closest of the boys who are hurt but are here. He won't be ready for Salzburg, but we'll see. I think he will be back soon."

The former head coach of

Borussia Dortmund

was also asked if players would play 90 minutes in the Community Shield "That won't be a problem for the game on Saturday.

"This preseason, we had to do a few things differently, which we also wanted to do. On Saturday, all of them will play their first full 90-minute game. But that was how we trained. For City, it's not really different. They just got back from America, probably yesterday or something. So it's going to be hard."
