Nketiah signals strong Arsenal strike pairing with Gabriel Jesus

Eddie Nketiah re-signed with Arsenal, and Gabriel Jesus joined Manchester City.

Eddie Nketiah

of

Arsenal

thinks that he and

Gabriel Jesus

, who came from

Manchester City

in the off-season, can work well together as a dangerous strike pair.

Nketiah had a good end to last year's Premier League season. Despite rumors about his future at the club, he scored five goals in the Gunners' last seven games.

The 23-year-contract old's was up at the end of the season, but he signed a new one with the North London club. At the same time, Gabriel Jesus joined from the club that won the Premier League, reportedly for £45 million.

Even though they might be competing for the same spot, Nketiah thinks

Mikel Arteta

could get the best out of them on the field. This was shown in Wednesday's 3-1 preseason win over Orlando City.

"I think we've shown that we can play together," he said. "It's clear he's a good player, and playing with him is fun. With our kind of strikers, it makes sense that we've been able to work together quickly. It's also good that we all share a holiday. I like playing with him, and I hope we can keep getting together.

"I like to play in the middle, but I also enjoy playing on the left. I'm happy to be on the field where I can be a threat and cause trouble. When "Gabby" came on in the second half, it was good to work with him."

During this busy transfer window, Jesus is the most well-known player that Arsenal has brought in. Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos have also joined, and

Oleksandr Zinchenko

's signing is said to be close to happening.

With the new players coming in, the England youth international said that Arsenal was still the best place for his career to grow, even though other teams were interested.

Nketiah said, "I wanted to wait until the end of the season, and I had a lot of offers." "When I sat down with my team, my manager, and my family, we all agreed that Arsenal was the best place to be.

"When your contract gets to that point, it's clear you'll have choices, so I sat with my agent and family to talk about them. But I think Arsenal is a great team. I like the club and think it's a great thing to do. I hope to be able to help with this in the future."
