Agent confirms Torreira wants Serie A football amid Juventus links

The Uruguayan star had a great performance last season at Fiorentina on loan from Arsenal, scoring five goals in 31 games. However, the Tuscans failed to make his move permanent.

Torreira

has a contract with Arsenal until June 2023, which means, despite his involvement in the Gunners’ pre-season, the club will reportedly try to offload him instead of losing him on free next summer. It’s been reported earlier that Torreira has been offered to Juventus as his representative is the same as Radu Dragusin.

Torreira’s agent, Bentancur, told

Sportitalia

responding to Juventus rumors:

“Torreira would like to stay in Italy.

“However, Arsenal has included him in the pre-season squad, so he seems to be part of the plans.”

Meanwhile, Juventus centre-back Radu Dragusin is in talks with Genoa but hasn’t yet agreed to join the Grifone. He was supposed to be a part of Andrea Cambiaso’s transfer to the Allianz Stadium.

Torreira joined the

Gunners

from Sampdoria in a €29m deal in 2018 and made 63 appearances for the Gunners since his arrival in July 2018. However, unable to secure a first-team place, after spending one season at Atletico Madrid on loan, Lucas Torreira made another loan move from Arsenal to

Fiorentina

. During his time at Metropolitano Stadium, he helped Diego Simeone’s side on their path to winning the La Liga title, and now he has moved to Serie A to join Fiorentina, which has been only one of the clubs interested in signing the Uruguayan midfielder.
