Milan to offer contract extension to Giroud

AC Milan wants to tie Olivier Giroud down to a new contract.

According to the Italian press,

Olivier Giroud

had a positive talk about extending his contract. Milan wants to extend his contract until 2025.

Giroud joined Milan last summer in a two-year deal worth around €1m. He scored 14 goals in 38 matches and played a key role in the Rossoneri winning the Serie A title after 11 years last season.

Reports claim that the negotiations between both parties will continue in the coming weeks.

The 35-year-old striker left

Chelsea

to join Milan last summer. He scored 39 goals in 119 matches for the blues and won the Champions League, FA Cup, and Europe League.

Giroud also played for Arsenal from 2012 to 2018 and scored 105 goals in 253 matches. He won three Fa Cups with the Gunners.

Giroud who is a World Cup winner with France in 2018 is just three goals away from breaking Thierry Henry’s all-time scoring record for France. He has scored 48 goals in 112 matches for his national team.
