Manchester United joins the race to sign David Raum

Manchester United is interested in Hoffenheim left-back David Raum, according to the reports in Germany.

Sky Germany claims that

Manchester United

has joined the race to sign

Raum

this summer.

Borussia Dortmund also wants to sign Raum but they don't want to pay

Hoffenheim

's asking price of £34 million.

Raum has a £26 million buy-out clause in his contract but that does not become active until 2023 summer.

Other English teams like Manchester City, West Ham, and Newcastle have also been linked with Hoffenheim defender in recent weeks.

Raum at the end of the season talked about his future and rumors linking him with Dortmund.

"Of course, you think about it. Naturally, I would have liked to have played on the international stage with Hoffenheim. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. That continues to be a dream for me."

Raum joined Hoffenheim from Greuther Furth on a free transfer last summer. He had a successful season with three goals and 13 assists from 32 league appearances.

The 24-year-old who can play in both the left-back and left wing-back positions recently impressed for Germany in the Uefa Nations League. Raum has played in nine matches for Germany.
