Klopp tells Liverpool fans to 'book the hotel' for next UCL final

Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool fans to book their hotels for next season's Champions League final in Istanbul after their loss to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid

overcame Liverpool 1-0 on Saturday night in

Paris

to win the competition. It means

Liverpool

have gone from potentially winning the quadruple to missing out on both the

Champions League

and Premier League trophies in the space of a week.

But Klopp, who won the Champions League in 2019 after losing the final in 2018, was not morose and asked: "Where's the final next year? Istanbul?" When he had a positive response, he told Liverpool fans: "Book the hotel."

His side came up against a defensively resolute Real side, who scored through a second-half Vinicius Junior strike at the back post. Asked whether his dressing room was heartbroken, Klopp said: "Yeah of course. The dressing room, nobody feels it is a great season at the moment."

He added: "(Being positive about the season is) not hard. I have that already. It feels different. I said after we lost (the Europa League final) against Sevilla in Basel and in Kiev, it's not bad to get to the final.

"It's already a kind of success, not the success you want to have, but I have a strong feeling we come again. The boys are really competitive. We will have an outstanding group again next season. We go again." Liverpool won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup but finished second in the Premier League before Saturday's loss to Real.
