Kamara gets his first France call-up as Pogba is out due to injury

Boubacar Kamara, a playmaker for Marseille, has been called up to the France senior team for the first time.

Boubacar Kamara has been invited for the first time by France manager Didier Deschamps for Les Bleus' Nations League fixtures in June.

Next month, the Nations League champions will meet Denmark, Austria, and Croatia at home and away, rematching their 2018 World Cup final opponents.

Kamara, a 22-year-old Marseille midfielder who is likely to depart the

Ligue 1

club as a free agent, has been awarded his first senior international invitation. Aston Villa, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Barcelona have all been connected with the 22-year-old.

Kamara is part of a 24-man team and may have profited from the injury to Paul Pogba.

Pogba – who is also out of contract at Manchester United – was injured in a thrashing by Liverpool at Anfield in April, and interim manager Ralf Rangnick said the midfielder's season was ended.

N'Golo Kante has been called up after returning from injury to play for Chelsea in the

FA Cup

final against Liverpool last weekend, along with Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba, who is on loan from Arsenal.

Theo Hernandez is picked in the defense with his brother Lucas, who has been instrumental in Milan's

Serie A

title bid.

Kylian Mbappe joins Karim Benzema, Antoine Griezmann, Kingsley Coman, and Moussa Diaby up front, with his future to be revealed before France's games. Wissam Ben Yedder and Christopher Nkunku, who have combined to score 50 goals for RB Leipzig this season (34 goals, 16 assists).
