Varane: Next season will be better for Manchester United

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane says they will be a better team next season.

Manchester United

have gone five years without winning a major trophy and it looks certain they will miss out on Champions League qualification this season.

"Personally, it's been an amazing experience, the feeling of being a player at Manchester United is something special,"

Varane

told MUTV of his first campaign with the club.

"I'm always positive, I think the next season will be better.

"This season was something irregular, we will work to be ready to win trophies and do our best over the next few months.”

The 29-year-old joined Manchester United from Real Madrid last summer and has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season.

"I hope to do a full pre-season, to be fit to help the team as much as possible. I want to do my best for this club and the fans,"

he added.

Varane also praised the 37-year-old

Cristiano Ronaldo

who has scored 24 goals for United this season.

"It's fantastic, he's a great professional, and I think his talent is amazing, if he is on the pitch he will score goals, it's crazy,"

Varane added.

"Even with his age, he has the hunger and with his talent, he can help the team."
