Rudiger close to sign for Real Madrid
The German star is close to a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 29-year-old defender's contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season and no agreement has yet been reached to extend his contract. However, Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that the German defender is very close to reaching an agreement with Real Madrid. According to the report, Rudiger reduced his requested salary, which had previously prevented his transfer.
Manchester United tried to sign the German defender, but Rudiger wanted to play in the Champions League next season, so Old Trafford could not be a safe destination for him. He wanted to make a decision about his future by the end of April, and he seemed to be getting closer to his next destination.
Along with him, another Chelsea defender, Andreas Christensen, is on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge and is said to be in Barcelona next season.
Chelsea will suffer greatly from the separation of their two defenders and will have to work hard to find a replacement.
