Spinazzola ready for comeback after nine months out of action

Roma and Italy left-back Leonardo Spinazzola is ready to be back in action nine months after an injury during Euro 2020.

Spinazzola

who tore his Achilles tendon during the quarter-final game with Belgium in Euro 2020 wants to achieve more success in football.

“I feel good, I have come out of my shell after a few months that really were not easy, but I knew that I could count on this family. As always, everything passes by,”

said Spinazzola at a public event.

“If I look back, I see lots of hard work and many wonderful things that helped me to grow. If I look forward to the future, I say that I want to do so much more in football, even more wonderful and difficult things than winning the Euros.”

After nine months out of action, he was on the

Roma

bench for the first time in a 2-1 win against Salernitana in

Serie A

on Sunday night and could make his comeback this week.

The 29-year-old Spinazzola was one of the stars of the Azzurri’s Euro 2020 campaign last summer and his absence was heavily felt as the side failed to qualify for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
