Ivan Perisic believes Inter are back in the Scudetto race
After a terrible run of results, Ivan Perisic believes 'Inter are back,' as they backed up their triumph over Juventus with a win against Verona.
The Croatian international assisted on both goals in the 2-0 win over Verona at San Siro, setting up
Nicolo Barellaand Edin Dzeko. "We're hoping this means
Interare back," Perisic told
DAZN
, "since the results in February and March were not good, but we're still up there, and it's not over."
"I prefer not to discuss the past; I prefer to concentrate on the present." We've been missing our fans for over two years, but now that they're behind us, it'll be easier to keep going till the end."
Milan
is leading the table with a one-point edge over both Inter and
Napoli
after 31 games. "We won the title last season; we performed well until February, there are many teams in contention for the Scudetto, but I have no fear if we play, run, and fight like we did tonight."
In the second half, Perisic was replaced on the left wing by Robin Gosens, who moved to a support striker role behind
Edin Dzeko. "I've played practically every position on the field in my career!" It makes no difference where you play; what matters is that you run, battle, and win for the team."
