PSG’s Verratti receives a one-match ban for insulting the referee

The Italy international has been banned from one match in Ligue 1 and a suspended sentence since he insulted the referee when PSG were defeated.

last month, believing that the “referees are s***ting on us.”

The midfielder went to the headquarters today to explain his side of the problem and defend his case and a PSG representative was with him.

He received a one-match ban with another suspended sentence which will be triggered should he insult any other referee.

Therefore, he is set to miss this weekend’s battle against Girondins de Bordeaux.

Many featured that he may receive a four-match ban in

Ligue 1

, with his disciplinary background in general. He has featured in 368 matches for PSG and he received 115 yellow cards and five red ones, with all of them being for double bookings.
