Buffon extends contract with Parma until 2024

The Italian goalkeeper will continue playing football for at least another two years.

Parma

goalkeeper

Gianluigi Buffon

has extended his contract with the club until 2024.

The Italian goalkeeper, who started his football career in Parma, played for

Juventus

for 19 years and then returned to Parma last year. After returning to Parma, the World Cup winning goalkeeper was the team's first choice and played 23 games for them, and the club will reward his good performance by extending his contract.

 Kyle Krause, Parma's president said:

"I have great news, Gigi has renewed his contract until 2024. He is a great player, a pride for us: Gigi has a great passion for Parma, we are very happy for his support and his commitment."

Buffon made his debut for Parma in 1995 at the age of 17 and became the most expensive goalkeeper in history in 2001 when he moved to Juventus for € 27 million. He won nine Serie A titles with Juventus and also won the World Cup with Italy.

He joined Paris Saint-Germain in the 2018-19 season and won the Ligue 1 with this team, and returned to the Allianz Stadium the following year as a free agent.
