Milan have won nothing yet - Giroud

Olivier Giroud believes the Rossoneri ‘have won nothing yet’ and is delighted to feature in Italy, as the cuisine ‘is almost as good as in France.’

Milan

are leading the

Serie A

table with two points in their advantage from

Napoli

and

Inter

; however, the Nerazzurri have a game in hand.

Olivier Giroud

, who have met the back of the net 24 times with the Rossoneri this season, told his teammates that the title race is far from over yet.

We must find until the end, we’ve won nothing yet,

” he told GQ Magazine, as quoted by Milannews.

“Milan have always been one of the most important clubs in the world and one must always aim for the top when wearing this shirt. I’ve always thought that this a good team, with a nice mix of young and experienced players.

“Stefano Pioli is pushing us to give our best. We are aware of our qualities and we’ll do our best to give satisfaction to our fans.”

The 35-year-old has just found the target at San Siro this season with eight goals coming in home games and two in the derby clash against Inter, which was an away fixture on paper. Giroud netted a brace in the space of three minutes and sealed Milan’s victory in a crucial game.

“We knew we hadn’t played well in the second half, but when we returned after the break, we were sure that we could have turned the game around. The derby is a special match, it gives you incredible adrenaline. It was a great emotion to score under our Curva.”

He was quizzed why he joined the Rossoneri from the Blues in the summer.

“A lot of great Frenchmen played here and many football legends: van Basten, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Sheva…

“The first time I spoke to Paolo Maldini on FaceTime was a strong emotion. He is a legend of the great Milan. He embodies the club’s class. Milan are a top club and I understand it every day. The organization is fantastic and Milanello is amazing. There is everything to work well and give the best on the pitch.

“Both my grandmothers were Italian and I am proud of my roots,”

he continued.

“Playing here and living in Italy with my family makes me very happy. I love this country, its tradition and, of course, Italian cuisine. It’s almost as good as the French.”
