Ivory Coast held to a draw by Sierra Leone after late blunder

Despite Sebastien Haller and Nicolas Pepe’s goals, Ivory Coast earned only one point in their battle against Sierra Leone following a mistake that cost them a lot.

When goalkeeper

Badra Ali Sangare

made a stoppage-time blunder,

Ivory Coast

were only able to grab one point in their 2-2 draw with

Sierra Leone

in the

Africa Cup of Nations

clash.

The shot-stopper tried to pull a save but could not stop the ball from meeting the net. It was Ivory Coast’s second major mistake, with the first one coming in the 12th minute when they gifted their opponents a penalty when Franck Kessie’s kick was pushed away by Mohamed Kamara.

During Sierra Leone’s goalless draw with Algeria, Kamara played the role of a hero; however, he was beaten here when Wilfried Zaha’s impressive pass found Sebastian Haller, with the Ajax player taking a touch before rifling into the right corner.

They equalized the game in the 55th minute when Musa Kamara pulled off some impressive footwork to go into the penalty area and send a strike into the top corner.

Ivory Coast took back their lead with an outstanding goal 10 minutes later. However, three minutes before time, Sangare failed to stop the embarrassing equalizer.
