Arsenal boss Arteta hails Odegaard after victory over Norwich

The Gunners boss was extremely pleased with Martin Odegaard’s performance after their Boxing Day’s thumping 5-0 victory over Norwich City.

Arsenal

dominated the whole 90 minutes of the battle against

Norwich City

, scoring the opener through

Bukayo Saka

and going on to net four more, with Saka netting his brace and

Kieran Tierney

further finding the target before late goals from

Alexandre Lacazette

and

Emile Smith Rowe

sealed their emphatic victory.

Despite not scoring,

Martin Odegaard

pulled off an amazing display, contributing two assists and three key passes.

Although he started the season slowly, the midfielder has been showing off his rich vein of form lately and

Mikel Arteta

was full of praise for him after his contribution.

"

I think he is playing fantastically well. He helps us a lot, he glides the team together and I am really pleased with him,"

Arteta said of the Norwegian.

Arteta went on to hail his side’s all-around display as they made their way to the top four on the

Premier League

table.

"

It was very good [today]. A really traditional day in this country and to play football in this atmosphere, it was great,"

he said.

"I think we performed and played really good, we were really consistent and a real threat throughout the game and I am really pleased with the way we attacked and defended.

"There's no time to recover [ahead of the Wolves game] but we will do our best to keep the spirit, the mindset and physically the team in the best possible condition to play in front of our crowd, which we will need a lot from to give us energy in the game and try to win the game."
