Tottenham 3-0 Crystal Palace: Conte remains unbeaten in the league

Tottenham Hotspur maintained their perfect record in the Premier League under Antonio Conte with a resounding victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Spurs cruised to a 3-0 win against 10-man Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Boxing Day, continuing Harry Kane's incredible

Boxing Day

scoring record.

Spurs took leadership with goals from Kane and Lucas Moura in rapid succession, with the England captain scoring in his sixth straight Boxing Day meeting to match

Robbie Fowler

's

Premier League

scoring tally of nine goals the day after Christmas.

Wilfried Zaha was subsequently sent off before halftime for two bookable fouls, and Son Heung-min scored a third goal after the break as Tottenham Hotspur secured a three-point victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Since Antonio Conte's appointment, the Lilywhites are now undefeated in six Premier League fixtures, putting them in contention for a spot in the

Champions League

with games in hand on those in the top four.

In a commanding beginning for Conte's side, Son's long-range shot forced a brilliant save from Jack Butland, while Lucas strangely headed off goal.

Spurs seized the lead justifiably when Kane shot into the bottom-left corner from Lucas' ball to conclude a quick attacking move, and the Brazilian striker added a second two minutes later after Emerson Royal's cross.

Before the halftime, Zaha was handed his marching orders for two unnecessary bookings, both for fouls on Davinson Sanchez.

After the interval, Kane deflected Son's corner barely over, before the South Korean star finished Spurs' outstanding London derby display by flicking Lucas' pass beyond Butland.

Spurs have been resurrected under Conte, with the club scoring 12 goals in their previous five Premier League matches to move into the fifth position.

On the other hand, Palace has only one win in seven top-flight games and is ranked 12th.

Spurs' Kane and Son normally get the credit, but Lucas wowed the home fans with refined performance.

In an impactful performance, he generated three chances, two of which were assists for his teammates, while also scoring a goal of his own.

Zaha has been sent off five times for Palace in all competitions, at least three more than any other player since his debut in 2010.

Prior to his expulsion, the 29-year-old had won only two of his six duels and had lost the ball 10 times – a game-high at the time of his suspension – but this does not explain his unnecessary over-aggression.

Tottenham will travel to Southampton on Tuesday, while Palace will face Norwich City on the same day.
