Men and women’s World XI's 23-player shortlist announced by FIFPro

The 23-player shortlist for FIFPro’s annual world XI selection has been revealed and Mohamed Salah is not part of the men’s list.

There is contention between ten players in the

Premier League

, with four

Chelsea

players being nominated - Edouard Mendy, Jorginho, N'Golo Kante and Romelu Lukaku.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes are on

Manchester United

’s shortlist, whereas

Manchester City

’s Kevin De Bruyne and Ruben Dias have been nominated.

Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are on the list for Paris Saint-Germain.

For the women’s World XI, there are seven WSL players are on the list, with five from Man City, which is more than any other club.

On January 17, 2022, both lineups are going to be pronounced at the Best FIFA Football Awards.
