“We gave everything” Flick delighted by Germany’s narrow win

Die Mannschaft continue their winning streak under the former Bayern boss as they get one step closer to World Cup qualification.

Germany defeated Romania with a 2-1 result in their World Cup qualifier on Friday. Die Mannschaft conceded an early goal but managed to come back from behind with two goals from Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller.

Hansi Flick says his side have displayed a decent performance against their opponents’ deep defense.

"Conceding goals always annoys me,"

Flick told

RTL

.

"We were about to have a penalty, and then we conceded. It wasn't easy for us to put up with that.

"We were man to man at the back. A number six simply has to stay there to cover, but we also have to say it was a very good goal

"But the team gave everything and the fans pushed us. In the end, we deserved to win against a team that defended very deep."

Germany have won all four of their games under the stewardship of Flick, securing their place at the top of Group J of the World Cup qualifiers. The Germans can secure their World Cup qualification by beating North Macedonia on Monday.
