Watford acquire Tottenham’s Sissoko on a two-year deal

The France international has made a move to Watford from the Spurs on a two-year contract.

Moussa Sissoko

has undergone his medical and joined

Watford

on a fee of £2.5m.

He joined

Tottenham

in 2016 and played in 200 games for the Premier League side.

The 32-year-old, who featured in Euro 2020 this summer, was committed to Spurs for another two years but Nuno Espirito Santo did not include him in his plans.

Watford manager Xisco Munoz said on Friday:

"He is a very good player, everyone knows he is an experienced player.

"He is a top player and I think he would be very good for us. We will see if he arrives. Always I say the same thing - we will have one option more in our squad to try to give all the best for our team."

His leave is another step for Tottenham to rebuild as he is determined to go out the exit door like Danny Rose, Erik Lamela and Toby Alderweireld.

The two parties are going to meet on Sunday as the Hornets visit north London; however, the Frenchman is unlikely to be involved.

Watford’s attempt to acquire Sissoko is when Will Hughes is going to depart Vicarage Road and join Crystal Palace, with the Eagles open to pay £10m for the 26-year-old.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have penned contracts with Pape Matar Sarr from Metz.

The highly-rated teenager, who has already represented Senegal, is going to stay at the Ligue 1 side until the end of the season.
