Man Utd not willing to sell Martial this summer
The Red Devils are not planning to cash in on their forward Anthony Martial in the transfer window.
Anthony Martial
had been targeted by Inter Milan but
Manchester United’s
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
has plans for the 25-year-old.
Martial played in 48 matches for the Red Devils last season, netting 23 goals as they ended the Premier League season sitting second and made their way through the Europa League final.
The France international has his first minutes after his knee injury in March during Saturday’s 4-0 friendly victory over Everton.
Solskjaer’s side strengthened their attacking options by acquiring
Jadon Sancho
on a £73m transfer fee from Borussia Dortmund.
With
Marcus Rashford
being out of action for 12 weeks due to shoulder surgery and
Jesse Lingard
being sidelined, having tested positive for Covid-19, the United manager will not let Martial depart this summer.
Martial joined United in 2015 and has met the back of the net 78 times in 258 matches and his current contract will keep him until 2024.
United will start their 2021-22 season in a battle against Leeds on Saturday.
