Dani Carvajal extends his contract with Real Madrid

The Spanish defender remained at the Santiago Bernabeu for another four years.

Real Madrid

defender Dani Carvajal has extended his contract with the team until 2025.

The 29-year-old Real defender missed most of last season due to injury and played only 15 games for the team. He became La Liga runners-up with Real and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they were eliminated after losing to Chelsea. He also missed Euro 2020 due to injury, where Spain lost to Italy in the semi-finals.

Growing up from Real Madrid's academy, Carvajal moved to Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 and returned to Madrid in 2013 after a year with the club, winning 16 trophies with Los Blancos, including four Champions League titles and two La Liga titles. He, along with Luka Modric, Nacho Fernandez and Lucas Vazquez, are the players whose contracts have been extended in the summer.

Real will start a new era with the return of Carlo Ancelotti and their first match will be on August 14 against Alaves in La Liga.
