Tavares set for debut as Arsenal squad travel to Scotland camp

Nuno Tavares joined Arsenal on a £7m deal from Benfica on Saturday and is involved in Arsenal’s traveling squad as the Gunners kickstart their pre-season by a friendly against Hibernian before a Saturday friendly clash with Scottish Premiership champions, Glasgow Rangers.

The 21-year-old defender is expected to make his 

Arsenal

 debut this week when Mikel Arteta’s side take on 

Hibernian in their first pre-season friendly of the summer

.

With several youngsters involved in the squad alongside the club’s senior players, Arsenal are taking a big squad with them for the 5-day training program at Scotland.

 

Nicolas Pepe, Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, and their attacking duo, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, have all been involved in the Gunners’ travelling squad as well as Tavares, who is expected to feature for the first time during the meeting with Hibernian.

Other senior players who have travelled include Hector Bellerin, Cedric Soares, Rob Holding, Sead Kolasinac, Joe Willock, Calum Chambers and Pablo Mari.

 

Amont the Gunners’ players who will miss the training program will be Bukayo Saka, who will have three weeks off following the 

England’s Euro 2020 final defeat

, while Kieran Tierney, Bernd Leno, Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira are all still on holiday.
