Hernandez starts his recovery after a successful knee surgery

Lucas Hernandez has had a successful injury according to Bayern Munich’s officials.

2-2 draw against Portugal in the Euro 2020 group stage on June 23, is going to focus on his recovery after successful knee surgery, according to

Bayern Munich’s

sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

The French international tore the medial meniscus on his left knee, but Bayern Munich hopes to have him in a few weeks.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said in a statement on Sunday:

"We wish Lucas a full and speedy recovery. Our doctors are very pleased with the course of the operation. He will be available again in a few weeks."

The 25-year-old joined Bayern Munich two years ago from Atletico Madrid and has played in 62 games for the club in all competitions.

He has played 42 games in Bundesliga and has experienced only one defeat, and in his first season at the club, he didn’t lose any of the 25 Bundesliga games he played for Bayern Munich and helped his side win the treble under Hansi Flick.

Now the title defenders will start their new campaign with their new boss Julian Nagelsmann with an away game against Borussia Monchengladbach on August 13.
