Messi has to finish his career at Barcelona - Ronald Koeman
Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman believes new terms will be agreed with the six-time Ballon d'Or winner, preventing him from Camp Nou.
Koeman insists Lionel Messi "has to finish his career at Barcelona", while he expects a contract extension for a talismanic figure to be announced "soon".
Barcelona and Messi have been negotiating a contract extension for months, but nothing has been officially announced yet.
Koeman told
Sportwhen asked for an update on the Messi deal:
"Messi has to finish his career at Barcelona, so I hope we can make it official soon
."
Even before returning to work at Camp Nou, Barça president Joan Laporta has stated that he believes Messi will stay in place.

The renewal isn’t at an advanced stage,
" Laporta has admitted.
"It’s okay, I believe that Leo’s boots will stay on Camp Nou’s pitch.
"I can’t contemplate a no from Messi; he wants to stay. We’re doing what we can but there’s no need to seduce him."
