Giroud won't extend his contract with Chelsea - report

The French star is very close to the exit doors of the Blues.

Goal

claimed that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud will probably not renew his contract with the club.

The Blues are trying to start negotiations to extend the 34-year-old striker's contract, but their intention is to extend it for a short time. The French striker's contract expires in the summer and although many clubs are looking to sign him, he has not yet made a decision on his next destination.

The French striker has played just three league games under Thomas Tuchel this season and has not been in the starting line-up since the win against Sheffield United in March in FA Cup. Therefore, he is thinking of leaving his team and joining a team in which he can have more opportunities to play.

This situation is while

Chelsea

with his impressive goal was able to beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and advance to the next stage. Giroud has scored 11 goals for Chelsea this season and looks set to come to an end.

But Giroud is not the only Chelsea player to have such a situation. Abraham also did not get a chance during the Tuchel era and could not show his abilities as he wanted.
