Tardelli says ‘being out of the cups’ helped Inter in Scudetto charge

Former Inter legend Marco Tardelli believes Inter’s elimination from the Champions League and Coppa Italia this season has helped them in their charge toward the Serie A title.

are currently sitting at the top of the Serie A table with an eight-point difference with city rivals

and are looking to secure their first league title since 2010.

Tardelli

told Rai Sport today that Inter’s early exit from the Champions League had been a factor in their league success as they play fewer matches in comparison with their rivals.

“Being out of the cups has given Inter confidence, they have a fantastic squad and the option to rotate without suffering drops in quality,”

the former Juventus star declared

“It always remains the same. The other teams are more tired, it is quite obvious. One could have predicted this would happen and now the Scudetto is theirs to lose.”
