The Gunners lose their chance to sign Draxler

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has chosen to join Bayer Leverkusen instead of Arsenal.

The

Gunners

lose in the race for

Paris Saint-Germain

star

Julian Draxler

as the German star chooses to return home instead of going to England to play under Mikel Arteta.

Julian Draxler, who joined the Parisians in January 2017 with a €42 million deal from Wolfsburg, has decided to join Bayer Leverkusen after his contract with the French giants expires.

Despite having good times at PSG in the past, he has made only 12 appearances in all competitions for them this season. He has made 160 appearances since he arrived at the club.

Julian Draxler scored his side’s only goal against Nantes, although he couldn’t help them so much as they were defeated by Nantes, to find themselves in a worse situation in the race for the title as they sit three points away from Lille, who leads in the Ligue 1 table.

The German international’s contract with Paris Saint-German expires this summer, and he has chosen to leave the Parisians to explore his options elsewhere.

The Gunners have been looking to sign Draxler for a long time, and they have even made links with the player in Wenger’s time, but it seems like they weren’t meant to get to sign the 27-year-old as he chooses to return to Germany.
