Ritchie apologized Bruce after calling him coward

The Newcastle midfielder was upset by what his manager said and called him a coward.

Newcastle United winger Matt Ritchie has apologized to Steve Bruce for insulting him.

Sky Sports claims that Steve Bruce blamed Matt Ritchie for not getting tactical instructions to his team-mates after he came on in second half against Wolverhampton, and that Ritchie was upset.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Bruce said:

"Unfortunately Matty didn't get the directions on quick enough, the instructions of how we were doing it [making the change]. We'll have to concede that one and make sure we do our instructions from the sideline."

Ritchie was close to parting ways with

Newcastle

in January and joining Bournemouth, but eventually stayed in Newcastle. His frustration with the coach's words had upset him, and he had called Steve Bruce a coward during a training session. Now

Sky Sports

has confirmed that he has apologized to his coach and Newcastle officials have confirmed that the problem in the team has been resolved.

Newcastle are just three points above the relegation zone and are trying to stay in the Premier League.
