Christensen might stop Tuchel from signing a centre-back in the Summer
After Andreas Christensen showed a great potential to fill Silva's place, Tuchel might have become tempted to keep Christensen in the club.
Although
Thomas Tuchel
had felt the need to enter the summer transfer market seeking a Centre-back,
Andreas Christensen
seems to have changed his opinion.
Tuchel, having been appointed as
Chelseamanager, has been waiting for the summer transfer window to fill the place of
Thiago Silva.
Silva joined Chelsea on 28 August 2020 on a one-year deal, But the Premier League club have been eager to give him a one-year extension contract.
The Brazilian had the experience of working with Tuchel when he was the PSG manager and this is why Tuchel is already aware of the 36-year-old's skills.
Silva has recently been suffering from a thigh injury picked last week.
Right after he picked injury,
Andreas Christensentook his place.
The 24-year-old showed a great potential to fill Silva's place although he had not appeared in more than five Premier League matches.
If Silva signs a one-year extension, there might appear some chances for the Danish to leave Chelsea.
Tuchel can convince him to stay if he assures Christensen that he will get a great deal of time to play for Chelsea, especially if Tuchel uses three-man-defense style.
