The 31-year-old striker was sent to his debut fight since he moved to Al Shabab from Shanghai Shenhua.
Odion Ighalo
featured for
Al Shababin the Saudi Pro League clash against Al Raed on Saturday which resulted in their victory. It was his first match since December 2 when he was substituted in the 90th minute to perform in his
Champions Leaguedebut in
Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to
Paris Saint-Germain.
Saturday’s victory has seen Al Shabab top of the Pro League table, two points clear of the second-placed
Al-Ahli.
Ighalo departed Manchester United after his loan contract expired as he only played once in the
Premier Leaguethis season. Taking that into consideration, Al Shabab offered the former Manchester United striker a two-and-a-half-year deal. Saudi Arabia is the sixth country the 31-year-old has featured for and he will try to break his duck in its top-flight. Ighalo will appear in the clash against
Al Nassron February 13 and help his new side finish their sixth unbeaten game.
